Janet Patti, Ed.D., is a senior coach and trainer for the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence. She is the co-founder and chief executive officer of Star Factor Coaching, a leadership development organization grounded in emotional intelligence.

Janet is also a professor in the School of Education at Hunter College, CUNY and is a founding member of the leadership team of the Collaborative for Academic Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL). Additionally, Janet worked for 25 years in Pre-K-12 public schools as a bilingual teacher, school and district administrator, and school guidance counselor.

Janet has authored books and other works on leadership development and social and emotional learning, including Smart School Leaders: Leading with Emotional Intelligence and Waging Peace in Our Schools, and is working on a third book. She believes that we must provide every child and adult with the tools to develop their emotional selves so that they can make informed decisions in life.

Janet is happily married and the mother of an adolescent daughter.
