Project Coordinator

Famatta Gibson is the project coordinator for the SELOC Project at the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence. In this role, Famatta is able to bridge her analytical and people skills through recruitment and project management. Before joining YCEI, she worked in various administrative and research support jobs at Yale, including the Yale Center for Genomic Health, where she served as the program coordinator. Originally from Monrovia, Liberia, in West Africa, Famatta is a graduate of Liberty University in Virginia with a Bachelor in Psychology and a graduate of Nyack College School of Social Work in Manhattan, New York, with a Master of Social Work. Before coming to the US, Famatta worked as part of a team whose mission was to integrate and rehabilitate child soldiers back into their communities. As an extern, she managed a community-based pilot project in Staten Island, funded by New York University, which later became a project. Famatta also works as a per diem clinician at the Continuum of Care, LLC and Wellmore Behavior Health, providing individual, family, and group work to clients, which she finds to be very rewarding.
